Polymorphism Description:  This A+T-rich VNTR is located about 0.5 kb on the 3' side of the last amino acid codon in the gene APOB.

The nomenclature used for allele designation is after Boerwinkle et al. which is based on the number of repeat units. The majority of the A+T-rich repeat units are 14-16 bp long begining with multiple thymines (Boerwinkle et al. 1989).
