Polymorphism Description:  A polymorphism resulting in a fusion of 3' region of FUT2 with 5' region of nearby pseudogene, without the C357T neutral mutation. The crossover region has been shown to be within a 61 bp stretch corresponding to regions between bases 253 and 313 of the pseudogene and between bases 211 and 271 of FUT2. The mutation leads to a loss of five EcoRI sites along the 38.7 kb span of FUT2 and the pseudogene.
