Sample Description:This sample of control volunteers were selected by cluster sampling from the community of Chushang Jenn, Nantou, Taiwan. These volunteers were all unrelated and received detailed interviews which consisted of a personal health history and family history of Parkinson's disease. Participants who had either aborigine ancestry or a positive family history of PD were excluded. Informed consent was obtained according to a protocol approved by the Human Subjects Research Ethics Committee of both Chushang Show-Chwan Hospital and Chung-Shan Hospital.
