Sample Description: These sample consists of individuals from Wayúu Amerindian population. This sample is of unrelated individuals. The assignation of this population was with a genealogical criterion of 3 generations earlier belonged to the community. The sampling was carried out at hospitals in the munipalities of Riohacha, Maicao and Uribia and in some Wayúu villages (Rancherias). Wayúu lives in La Guajira peninsula (10°23' and 12°28' north latitude, 71°06' and 73°39' W) in the northern of Colombia. Their language is called Wayuunaiki; part of the Arawak language family. This sample was collected by Grupo de Genética de Poblaciones e Identificación-Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
