Sample Description: This sample consists of unrelated adults belonging to the Punugu subcaste. The Punugu are a subcaste of the Yadava (Golla) caste. The sample was collected from the Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh, India. They still retain their traditional patterns intact and maintain a high degree of endogamy within the subcasts. Yadavas in general prefer consanguineous marriages and village endogamy.
