Sample Description: This sample consists of blood samples collected throughout the Spanish territory. In order to assure representativeness of all geographical areas, samples were collected from individuals who identified themselves as having been born in the area and having all four grandparents (two generations) born in the same area. The total number of geographical areas was 50, corresponding to the 50 administrative provinces (geographical areas surrounding a medium-large city) which constitute Spain, including the area in the Iberian Peninsula as well as the islands.

This sample is part of the 1000 genomes samples collections.
