Sample Description: This sample was collected by Dr.Lotfi Cherni and consists of unrelated individuals from Kesra,Tunisia where the ancestry is primarily Berber. Kesra is a town in a mountainous region of northwestern Tunisia in the Siliana governorate.During the Arab Bedouin invasions that began fourteen centries ago the mountainous region of Kesra provided shelter for the native Berber population. Berbers are indigenous peoples of North Africa that are culuturally and ethnically heterogeneous. In Tunisia, the two main Berber groups are the Zenata and Ketama tribes.
