Sample Description: This sample was collected by Dr.Lotfi Cherni and consists of unrelated individuals primarily of Arab and Berber ancestry from Smar, Tunisia. Smar is a town in southern Tunisia in the Tataouine governorate. The Berbers derive mostly from the Accaras tribes of the western Sahara. Berbers are indigenous peoples of North Africa that are culuturally and ethnically heterogeneous. In Tunisia, the two main Berber groups are the Zenata and Ketama tribes.
